Every summer I speak with prospective applicants who ask “what can I be doing now to prepare for my application in the Fall?” The first thing I always recommend is to take a deep breath. I then ask, “What do you want to do with your life?”
This takes many students back because what they want to do is to get into a graduate program. However, what many don’t realize is that the students that get the most out of their graduate experience are those that have a clear sense of how they intend to use the degree once they graduate.
